A relaxed, cool, rustic barn wedding in Pulborough, Sussex
Barn weddings are such a fun and wonderful way to discover the natural beauty of this country. We are constantly inspired by the golden fields, animals and plants when it comes to photographing a couple’s wedding story.
Most recently, we had the absolute fun and excitement of photographing Michelle and Tim’s wedding at Fitzleroi Barn, Pulborough, Sussex. Learn more about how the wedding day went below.
Sussex bride and groom prep at Fizleroi Barn, Pulborough
As a wedding photography duo, we always begin the day scoping out the venue and its area learning more about the beautiful backdrop to a wedding. It’s a quick 5 to 10 minutes scope, figuring out where best for couple photos as well as group shots. Once that’s done, we both meet the bride to say hello before one of us parts to meet the other half.
Michelle, the beautiful and gorgeous bride, was located in one of the small barns for her bridal prep. It was wonderful spending time with Michelle and her friends where there were lots of makeup brushes and steamers out for colourful, summery dresses. It was also lovely capturing one of the bridesmaids practicing her readings for the ceremony.
On the groom side, we captured the arrival of Tim and his subsequent meetings with his friends. There were lots of shots of all of them pulling together to pin their flowers onto their jackets!
A Fitzleroi Farm wedding ceremony
One of our highlights from the ceremony was capturing the first look of Tim when he saw Michelle in her wedding dress for the first time. The magic soon started as everyone sat down as both Michelle and Tim heard from many of their loved ones, both friends and family, beautiful words.
This was encapsulated when everyone came together for the confetti!

What’s the point of having a wedding at Fitzleroi Farm in the summer if you can’t make use of its golden fields?
Raise a toast! First dance and party all night
After delicious canapés and drinks served during reception, everyone joined together for speeches delivered by family and friends. Highlights included Michelle’s dad’s embarrassing but hilarious story about his daughter!
The wedding day drew to a close with the couple’s first dance later being joined by guests and their groovy dance moves.
